NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE

VILLAGE OF LAKE GROVE ACTING TO RESTORE

THE PREMISES 14 FIR STREET TO A SECURE AND

SAFE CONDITION PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 65 OF

THE LAKE GROVE VILLAGE CODE

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lake Grove will conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on October 4, 2018 at the Lake Grove Village Hall, 980 Hawkins Avenue, Village of Lake Grove, New York 11755 regarding the property 14 Fir Street,  Village of Lake Grove, SCTM# 208-026-01-015 as follows:

The Building Inspector of the Village of Lake Grove having performed an inspection of the premises 14 Fir Street, Village of Lake Grove, on April 4, 2018 and the Building Inspector having determined and issued a report that the premises 14 Fir Street, Village of Lake Grove is unsafe and not secure; and

The Village of Lake Grove on June 5, 2018 having issued and served as provided in Chapter 65 of the Lake Grove Village Code a notice to the owners and responsible parties for the premises 14 Fir Street, and the Building Inspector on or about July 1, 2018 having posted a notice of unsafe condition and order to remedy on the premises as provided in Chapter 65 of the Lake Grove Village Code notifying the owners and responsible parties of the unsafe condition and requiring action be taken to correct that condition as specified in the Notice, specifically the demolition and removal of the unsafe structure on the premises 14 Fir Street, Lake Grove; and

The owner and responsible parties having failed to take any action to remedy the unsafe condition or secure the premises 14 Fir Street, Lake Grove, as provided in the Notice and in Chapter 65 of the Lake Grove Village Code;

The Board of Trustees will conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on October 4, 2018

to take testimony and comments as to why the Village of Lake Grove should not cure and remedy the unsafe condition by the removal of structure and debris on the premises and charging the owner and responsible parties for the property for any costs incurred by the Village of Lake Grove, including but not limited to assessing the incurred charges on the following year’s tax bill for the property;
