Public Hearing on Local Law Amending Zoning

PUBLIC NOTICE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE  INCORPORATED VILLAGE OF LAKE GROVE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON A LOCAL LAW OF 2024 AMENDING THE ZONING OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES ON HAWKINS AVENUE, LAKE GROVE FROM RESIDENTIAL TO J BUSINESS 3

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lake Grove will hold a public hearing at the Lake Grove Village Hall, 980 Hawkins Avenue, Lake Grove, New York at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 regarding a Local Law of 2024 amending the zoning designation of certain properties from residential to J Business 3.

The title of the Local Law is “Local Law No.    of 2024 Amending the Zoning of Certain Properties on Hawkins Avenue, Lake Grove from Residential to J Business 3”.

The purpose of the Local Law is to amend the zoning designation of the properties located at 1003, 1013, 1015, 1017, 1019, 1025 and 1033 Hawkins Avenue, Lake Grove, specifically Suffolk County Tax Map Nos. 208-18-4-1, 208-18-4-2, 208-18-3-2 and 208-18-3-3 as further described in Schedule A attached from Residential to J Business 3.

The four properties that are the subject of this proposed re-zoning are located in the Sachem School District.

At said public hearing, all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard.

Pursuant to Section 24 of the Executive Law

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, THAT EFFECTIVE 6:00 A.M. EST, AUGUST 19, 2024,

THE HONORABLE  ROBERT J. SCOTTALINE, MAYOR OF THE VILLAGE OF LAKE GROVE, HEREBY DECLARES A STATE OF EMERGENCY IN THE VILLAGE OF LAKE GROVE DUE TO THE RAINFALL, FLOODING AND DAMAGE THROUGHOUT THE VILLAGE RESULTING FROM THE STORM OF AUGUST 18-19, 2024, AND BASED ON A FINDING THAT THE PUBLIC SAFETY IS IMPERILED THEREBY, AND THAT AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE AS DEFINED IN SECTION 24 OF THE EXECUTIVE LAW OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, THE HONORABLE ROBERT J. SCOTTALINE, AS THE MAYOR OF THE VILLAGE OF LAKE GROVE WILL ISSUE EMERGENCY ORDERS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY AND TO BRING THE EMERGENCY SITUATION UNDER CONTROL.

ORDERED:  NO PARKING ON VILLAGE ROADS; AND OTHER ACTIONS IN COORDINATION WITH THE TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN AND SUFFOLK COUNTY, ALL EMERGENCY AND RESTORATION SERVICES TO HAVE PRIORITY.
